Resolutions

The documentary record

Resolutions are the output of committee: negotiated text, amended on the floor and put to a vote. Adopted documents are archived here in full.

Anatomy of a resolution

Preamble, operative clauses, vote.

A resolution opens with preambulatory clauses setting out context, followed by numbered operative clauses that state what the committee decides. Sponsors introduce it, the floor amends it, and the committee votes.
